A working city farm, and the same regulation-first model we run at Nathan's Farm — but on a bus route. For Oxfordshire learners who need land and animals to get through the gate, the barrier has usually been the journey, not the provision. This removes it.

What runs here
The working day, applied to the learning.
Animal care and welfare rounds, growing and land-based projects, a teaching kitchen for cooking and life skills, and Functional Skills applied to the work. Minutes from Oxford's schools, and reachable for families.

Animal care and welfare rounds
Feeding, welfare checks, handling and husbandry, with responsibility handed over as a learner shows they are ready for it.

Growing and land-based projects
Planting, growing, maintenance and seasonal projects — practical work with something to show at the end of it.

Teaching kitchen
Cooking and life skills taught with what is grown on the site — food preparation, hygiene, budgeting and the independence of feeding yourself and other people.

Functional Skills, applied
English and maths taught through feed weights, costings, records and signage, from Entry Level upward.
Why this site
The barrier was the journey, not the provision.
Farm-based provision works for a particular kind of learner, and Oxfordshire families have historically had to travel a long way to reach any. A working city farm on a bus route removes the part of the problem that was never educational.
What learners work toward
The same accredited routes as Nathan's Farm.
Learners can work towards recognised achievement through the AQA Unit Award Scheme and, where appropriate, NCFE vocational routes, with Functional Skills English and maths taught through the work of the farm rather than separately from it.

Exact official qualification titles, levels and awarding-body approvals are confirmed with KCL before publication.

Nathan's Farm, Chesham Youth Centre, Denham Community Centre, Bletsoe Village Hall and Oxford City Farm are independent sites. KCL delivers its provision at each of them by arrangement, and does not own or operate the premises.
